Should You Create Your Own Electronic Products?

The Internet offers huge advantages for making money when product creation is so easy to do. Electronic products are the products of the future, what with current generations already use to this type of technology. Let's look at some business options below and see what's right for you.

Many Internet business owners are making lots of money by simply selling products that were made by other people. This type of selling is known as affiliate marketing. Instead of creating their own product they send traffic (people) to the other person's product via an affiliate link (URL) that will earn them a commission if a sale is made. This can be very lucrative for the affiliate if they know what they're doing.

There are also many Internet business owners who actually make their own products and concentrate on gaining as many affiliates as possible to do the product promoting for them. This can also be very lucrative and much less time consuming once the initial product creation has been done.

So should you be an affiliate marketer or a product creator? Each have their good and bad points. If you decide to be an affiliate you don't have to create any products or worry about accepting payments and processing refunds. But you do still have to have an existing client base to send to your affiliate links or generate traffic in other ways. Also, you have no control over the actual product, the sales material or customer support. This may or may not be a good thing, depending on how you look at it.

Another other issue is competition from other affiliates who will be promoting the same product to their existing clients. Markets can become saturated over time.

If you've decided to instead be the product creator you do have some advantages. You will have complete control over all aspects of the product and will earn more money in the long ran than an affiliate. But you also have many burdens to bear.

Where do you find the affiliates to help promote your product? How much commission should you give them for their hard work? Should you spend time and money developing affiliate tools like banners and ads for them to use? The list goes on and on, and it's up to you to decide if this is the right path for you to take.

Some people prefer to have as much control over things as possible, whereas others don't mind just doing the selling or promoting. Some even do a combination of both. You could try both affiliate marketing and product creating, and see which you prefer.

A couple of sites that have built-in affiliate systems are www.Clickbank.com and www.PayDotCom.com. These sites allow you to sell products through them (accept payment and automate delivery of the product) and also allow affiliates to promote those same products for you.

Have a look at some of the products on offer at these sites. You may find some that you would like to promote as an affiliate and you may also find some great ideas for brand new products that you could create. Good luck.
